  1. Or my fronts will never hear you. They, you see, can never know whatever is directly in front of them, for if they do, they will forget everything they have ever known or seen before that moment of distraction. It’s hilarious, for sure, but it’s also sort of a nightmare all of its own, obviously.

  2. The TV flickered back on and yanked the attention of the crowded room to itself. On-screen, she sat alone in a dark green room, her hands and feet shackled to the floor with the signature hexagonal links of the Column Falls Penitentiary, and she addressed us all in medias res:

    “…so it is in your best interest. For, I fear, some of the things which may spill forth from your lips, should you confront me, may result in a quite unfortunate outcome for you. There are certain qualities about me, certain uncommon qualities, that, from your perspective, will appear to you as if they are faculties of my body that are strictly under my control, and, thereby, you will, unjustifiably so, ascribe the unfortunate and unstoppable consequences of your affronting me to be a product of my will, and the supposed idea that I may be intentionally forcing you to new levels of experienced pain. I assure you, this will not be the case. I truly wish you no harm. That is why, again, I reiterate to you, speak only of me behind my back, lest you awaken something else that resides within me and lashes out of its own accord through its own horrible appendages. You have been warned.”
